Our arrival at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel creates tidal ecstasy in Stephen. The view down Wilshire Boulevard, festooned with Christmas decorations, is drawn on our arrival as he sits in his room enjoying a hamburger / coke lunch accompanied by myriad presents from the hotel management including a video of Pretty Woman which was filmed in and around the hotel. This small figure, seated in front of his favourite lunch with orchids beside his french fries, grinning from ear to ear, is intoxicatingly delightful.
