Stephen and I take a brisk walk before dinner. It is cold and it is dark but the lights from the piazzetta illuminate the bridge. He has drawn the bridge itself in two minutes and then completes the diminishing view down the little canal. His ability to capture the perspective is astounding, especially in a lightning sketch as here.
